This thin resin-sized card stock is a great under-color for oil, acrylic, gouache, casein, or pastel paintings.
Many artists paint directly on them, but for most oil techniques, we recommend a coat of Golden GAC-100 Multi-Purpose Acrylic Polymer as a sizing to reduce absorbency while retaining the beautiful color.
*We do not ship Golden GAC-100 during winter months due to freezing. Please check back in when the weather warms up a bit!
Alternatively, acrylic gel medium, a thin coat of linseed oil or Galkyd will also work well. You can also use regular gesso or Gamblin Oil Ground, but you would lose the pleasant warm undercolor.
Cartón is very lightweight and compact, good for use while traveling. Use Miracle Muck to mount your finished paintings on Museum Board or Gatorfoam to make them more substantial.
