Dawn Chandler

by Sarah Judson February 03, 2014

New Mexico artist Dawn Chandler paints not only traditional landscapes (top, Baldy Mountain), but also "interior landscapes" which are semi-abstracted paintings created with mixed media (below, Cloud Butte). For her current project, she is inviting people to share some of their experiences and reflections about nature, which she will use as inspiration for future images. "You don't have to slave over your answer. It doesn't have to be long, and it doesn't have to be clean or poetic or especially well-written. Short and sweet is perfectly fine — though longer and more contemplative would be wonderful, too." Above is an 8"x10" plein air oil done in Santa Fe, entitled Escaping to the Aspen Vista Trail.
