We enjoyed a conversation recently with award-winning painter
Teri Gortmaker, who won one of our Gift Certificates at the
Pastel Society of Colorado show last summer. Teri works in both pastel and oils. Shown above is her 9"x12" plein-air oil painting entitled
Twilight, which won Best of Show at the
Plein Air Artists Colorado 2012 Annual Exhibition in Taos, New Mexico.
Evening at Lyons Farmette, shown at left is an 11"x14" plein air oil.
"
My choice of subject matter is variable because there seems to be very little that is not worth painting. I continue to take classes from artists I admire because there is always more to learn and a higher level to achieve."

Green Barn which was included in the Colorado Governor's Invitational show in 2011.
She has been a signature member of New York City’s Pastel Society of America since 1993, won awards and been juried into the exhibitions of Salmagundi Artists, N.Y., Knickerbocker Artists, N.Y. International Association of Pastel Artists, and Scottsdale Artists School ‘Best and Brightest,' among others.
