During his visit to southern California last week, Carl was happy to see
Christin Coy, whom he had met earlier in Sonoma. Christin lives in Marin County. Born and raised in Oslo, Norway, she started drawing at the age of two and has made art an important part of her life ever since. Shown here are
July Evening Lucas Valley (above, 6"x6") and
West Marin Hills (below, 10"x10"), both plein air.

Christin immigrated with her family to Southern California at the age of thirteen. She received her degree in Fine Art from UC Berkeley and for several years worked as a graphic artist with landscape architecture firms in Los Angles and the Bay Area.
She is a member of
BayWood Artists, who produce an art show each year to raise funds and to bring awareness to Bay Area

environmental causes. She is also a member of the
California Art Club and is a participant in
Ranches & Rolling Hills, an annual art show benefitting the Marin Agricultural Land Trust.
Shown below is another of her plein air paintings, Mt. Tam and Richardson's Bay (6"x16").
