Plein Air Easton

In spite of the triple-digits that many of us endured this July, this year's 7th Annual
Plein Air Easton festival, one of the largest and most picturesque plein air events in the country (July 28-24), was a success.
It featured exhibits, sales, 3-D art, demos, auctions and studio tours in addition to 58 invited artists competing for thousands of dollars in prizes and 150 artists participating in the
Quick Draw, a
Local Color exhibit for regional artists and a special
Quick Draw - The Next Generation for artists under 25. The above photo is from
Pat Labrecque's Art Cocoon blog, showing the Quick Draw participants awaiting the decisions of this year's judge, Stephen Doherty, editor of Plein Air Magazine.
The
Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum invited painters to spend a day on their 18 waterfront acres in the historic town of St. Michaels, Maryland. The Museum’s floating fleet of historic Chesapeake Bay watercraft is the largest in existence and its small boat collection includes crabbing skiffs, workboats, and log canoes.
