A few years ago, we did a post about Carol Marine, her paintings and workshops. Now she has written a book about her adventures in Daily Painting and its many advantages. There are no rules in the Daily Painting project, not even that you paint every day. It just encourages an artist to make a commitment to do it often. If you post the paintings online, you will receive feedback and exposure, eventually leading to sales and workshops. If you decide on a small format (she uses 6"x6") it lets you take risks with a modest investment of time, money and ego, which adds an element of fun and improvisation to your work. As you get into the habit of painting regularly, you can get into a groove and enjoy the process, just like practicing a sport for recreation. "This book is a chance for me to share with you all the valuable lessons I've learned from painting daily: from materials to color mixing to ignoring your brain to photographing your art to marketing yourself online."
You'll find her website here.
